Terms of Use
Last updated 23 June 2026 · This is the End-User License Agreement (EULA) for the Sila app.
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name] (“Sila”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Sila application and website. Please read them. By using Sila, you agree to them.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Sila, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you are using Sila on behalf of someone else, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them. You must be at least 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use Sila.
2. Your license to use Sila
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use one copy of Sila on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
You may not, except as the law permits: copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app; reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it; rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense it; or remove any proprietary notices.
3. Accounts
You can use Sila without an account. If you create one (via Sign in with Apple, Google, or email) to enable sync and your subscription, you are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Subscriptions & billing
Sila is free to use for its core features. Sila Plus is an optional, auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional features (unlimited people, reminders, sizes & favorites, backup, and cross-device sync).
- Pricing. Sila Plus is offered at $4.99 / month or $39.99 / year, which may include a 7-day free trial. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before you purchase.
- Payment. Purchases are processed by Apple and billed to your Apple Account. We do not receive your payment-card details.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered and you don’t cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s refund policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.
5. Your content
Everything you put into Sila — the people, notes, dates, and other details — is yours. We claim no ownership over it. You are responsible for the information you record and for having any consent that may be required to store details about other people. You grant us only the limited permission necessary to store and sync your content to provide the service to you (for example, hosting it for your account so it syncs across your devices). We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Sila to: break the law; infringe anyone’s rights; store or transmit anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive; attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users’ data; interfere with or disrupt the service; or use it to harass, surveil, or harm another person. We may suspend or terminate access if you do.
7. Our intellectual property
The Sila app, the “Sila” name and wordmark, the mark/logo, designs, and all related materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights in them except the limited license above.
8. Disclaimer — no warranty
Sila is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always be delivered (notifications depend on your device’s settings and operating system). Sila is a memory aid, not a guarantee — keep your own records for anything critical. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sila and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for Sila in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using Sila at any time and delete the app and/or your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive termination.
11. Apple App Store — additional terms
This section applies because you obtained Sila through Apple’s App Store. You and we acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims; those are handled by us under these terms.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist-supporting,” and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Sila after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction, e.g. England & Wales / the State of …], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of [venue] will have jurisdiction — except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings locally.
